Update: I appear to have created quite the stir! The DVD is getting a lot of positive reviews. Read the comments for yourself, and let me know what you think! Maybe the Gold DVD is worth it for you?
I have been involved in the mystery shopping world for around three years now. In that time, I have talked to a lot of very experienced mystery shoppers. Some of them were proponents of getting certified by the MSPA, and some said it was definitely not worth it.
But with the release of the NEW Gold Certification DVD, I whole-heartedly believe that you should NOT order it. I have two main reasons:
1. It costs you one hundred dollars of your hard earned money, but it will do nothing in terms of actually getting you better assignments. If you want to learn more about mystery shopping, then the absolutely BEST way to do that is to go out and complete an assignment. Instead of costing you money, you might actually make a little bit. As you may know, scammers have been posing as my company as part of a check-cashing scam that has resulted in many people losing thousands of dollars.
Fortunately — those very scammers may have been caught!
Just a few days ago Canadian authorities arrested two people suspected of fraud. The description of the case matches the fraud that has attacked my business and my subscribers.
Hopefully this will mean the worst is over.
I am currently in the process of contacting the Canadian authorities. Hopefully they will be able to verify that the 2 people arrested are indeed the sames ones who were impersonating my company. I will also be able to pass on all of the valuable information my subscribers have sent me, and hopefully help you get in contact with them if you have any evidence related to these crimes.
Here is a copy of the press release announcing the arrests: Continue reading ‘Scammers Caught! 2 Canadian Check-Fraud Scammers arrested…’
EPMS is a mystery shopping company that has a good reputation among mystery shoppers. They specialize in apartment shops, which are often some of the higher paying shops available. They do have extensive reports, but most shoppers say that the extra effort is worth it for the extra pay.
One shopper did report having trouble getting paid when the person who was supposed to show him the apartment did not show up. I recommend clarifying EPMS’s policy about that before you do the assignment. Most shoppers report that they are easy to work with, reliable, and pay well. So I definitely recommend registering with them.
