Want to find mystery shopping companies right now? Especially ones that will give you the best paying assignments, at the stores you want to shop at?
Then keep reading.
Here are 5 ways to find those companies right now:
- Search JobSlinger.com, and don’t just search for assignments that are currently available. Most mystery shopping companies have the same assignments month after month, so look for those old assignments that you would have wanted, sign up with the company, and then look for those assignments next month. You can even email the company and specifically request those assignments. Be sure to be nice about it though!
- Browse my list of companies on MysteryShopForum.com — I even have some descriptions of the types of assignments that various companies have available. Whether you are looking for restaurant shops, aparment shops, or movie theater shops, there should be a company listed for you.
- Go all out and apply to as many companies as you can. Yes, this isn’t the fastest way to do it, but it is the most effective. Many full time shoppers have applied to hundreds of companies, and then pared that list down to 10-20 that they work with on a regular basis. If you want to be a full time mystery shopper, then this will pay off for you.
- Read this article: The Best Mystery Shopping Companies at MysteryShopMaven.com. Joan has practical information that you can put to use right away. Plus, the comments on the article provide tons of new, valuable information as well.
- Network with other shoppers….and ask them for suggested companies to sign up with, ones to avoid, which ones have which kinds of assignments, and so on. My favorite place for this kind of networking is at MysteryShopForum.com. I encourage you to become a member right now.
So, there are 5 avenues to finding companies that I have found…
How do you find mystery shopping companies?

please leave me thwe best thing that you kniow about mystery shopping
Was very disspointed in the shopping no one wants to pay a thing but wants you to spend your money
Mundy, you are right…they want you to go out, spend money and barely pay for your time and effort, travel time, shop time, travel time back home, then input..it is disgusting
I will do any job. I need money to help with my child college education. I like to shop and have fun doing it. Thank you, Ruth I will go to traverse city and aroud cadillac or any other place.
Yea They need to up our pay per shop, the price of everything is going up except these jobs. even the gas staion shops dont pay much.
I found that if you do a string of jobs they are worth the pay. If you take the ones that require minimal purchases or none at all. You are absolutely right though, they do need to up the pay per job. Waiting a month to get paid is also a bummer.
I just want to say you rock! Your information is so helpful and I agree…..sometimes it’s just not worth it anymore.
You are all right. I like Mystery shopping, especially the movies. But, even though we have a Prius, it still doesn’t pay. You spend your time traveling, doing the shop, traveling to other shops and coming home. then you hve to put in the report…by the time you have spent the day working for pennies. My husband has a fit about these jobs that don’t pay very well. I would likek to know how to get the better jobs i.e cruise ships, airlines etc. I know they are there, I just don’t know how to find them.
My colleagues here, speak about the low returns from shopping!! I was offered a gas station shop with a reimburseable spending limit of $2!!
Add the fee for shopping, in the single digits as well, and I might as well ride to the location on my bicycle, with a gallon gas container!!
But I do appreciate the commentary, and suggestions, provided by Jacob, and company. My dilemma now is weeding through all the offers that hit my e~address!! That takes time, as well, and has anyone a secret to doing a 50-question survey, including “narratives,” in under 60~minutes?? My last several shops, after including the reporting time, worked out to earnings way~y~y~y below minimum wage(!!) and I don’t want to hear about the benefits on my tax return!! I appreciate the tips, Jacob!
I live in a small town in w. nc and it’s very hard to find company’s to do shops and demos. for. Can somebody help me with some free company names and email addresses
I agree, the shops are not paying squat!!! I am retired and doing this to supplement my income. But with the cost of gas, the time involved reporting, I might as well have a full time job. These companies need to pay more. I am lucky in the aspect I live in a small area that don’t have alot of people so I can get in at the last minute shops that companies can’t find anyone to do. But again that is far and few between and it barely covers the gas when they bonus them out because of the travel. Hint on how to make more? Do 10 small shops in the same local. Cuts down on gas, takes longer but you end up making a little.
I really do think that some of the shops that pay very little are a disgrace to mystery shoppers. It is an insult to be paid so little for some very technical reporting on some of the shops. If I know in advance what the shop expects I don’t accept the type of shops that require you to do a book on the report.
Well! with the time and effort of your reporting you are working way below minimum wage. Some company expect a book.
Have any of the shops not paid you? Or, because they couldn’t get $ into your acct, they mail you a check for less,( expenses), even the second month after corrections. So, at least this was for a shop that was next door to my full time job. Advice? Try a group of several shops for a grocery, some do 2-3 in the same local at 1 time.
At first I thought gapbuster was not paying but after the 2nd phone call they paid as they had the wrong bank account number for me.
But all the other ones pay and always the right amount. I have 5-6 companys I work for I also do merchandising and love it.
do you actually have any ‘mysteryshopping’ companies in my area of the woods, which is Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada?
want to hear from you soon!
how do I get started being a mysteryshopper, I don’t know where to start
I live in a small towne in nc does anybody know what company’s does mystery shops for arbys, wendys, burger king, pizza hut, kerr drugs Ive been trying to find out and have had no luck. I would greatly appreaciate any help I could get thank you sam
Hi, you just need to get on the computer and type in secret shoppers, or myster shopping and a bunch of websites will come up. also if you want to read a good article on mystery the news website nbc and they had a good article on this. shopping go to
Mystery shopping jobs zip code near my zip code:39747
I am sorry it was abc news good morning america.
Just type in mystery shopping .com and sign up for all and any that so not require money, and for sure this site of jacobs usually has alot od infor were to get the top sites, maybe he will post them again.
I also have found after 2 plus years of doing this that at times the companies don’t pay you enough to be bothered.
K-Mart is the WORST!! They pay quickly, but want enough info for a book! I refuse to do them unless the comission goes up.
Business Verifications are the easiest,(nothing to buy) but you need a digital camera.
Yesterday, I did 4 post offices a business verification and a bank. I ended up netting 50.00 plus expenses. I wish gas were part of that expense!! The biggest problem I have is we live in a rural setting, and I have to drive far to get jobs.
I “wish” some of the companies were more flexable in time constraints. Next week I have a UPS (gapbuster) and 3 coffee shops before 10 AM on the same day, if the time for the coffee shops were later, I could take three more.
I would like to let you know survey spot is not worth it. I have filled out so many surveys. I want to find the ones that pay. I have some disabilities and can’t sit for long periods of time to fill out surveys. Also I want to find companies you do not have to pay for the lists.
Patti, what merchandising companies are you happy with that you can suggest,I see plenty of them but not worth the money, can you suggest a company, sometimes you can get a referral fee,and I want to start planning a route with a good company. Any suggestions from Patti,or anyone on a good companies that pay good for what the shop needs are. Thank you
Hello, Trish M.
I have exactly the same concerns. I hope you are successful
in your search.
Hi, some of the merchandizeing companys are the same as secret shopping just have to take a merchandising test.
Stayingconnected.com,convergencemarketing.com,and cerifiedfieldsassociates.
I started with secret shopping .com first and when that ran out the companys just keep getting me jobs.
I need info on a mystery shop company. The name of the company is
CES International. Are they for real and how do I check out company’s that offer 300.00 to 500.00 for combo shops?
Thanks for your help.
