While there may be a legitimate company called “Insight Shoppers”, there also appears to be scammers using that name. What does this mean? There are people posing as this company, attempting to scam mystery shoppers out of there money.
This scam is pretty easy to avoid: If you ever get a large check in the mail from anyone claiming to be a mystery shopping company, do not deposit it. The check is fake. They will also ask you to wire money, or send a money gram. DO NOT do this. You will end up owing your bank for all of the money you deposited. In short: Large checks from mystery shopping companies are FAKE. Pretty simple.
So, if you get a large check from “Insight Shoppers LLC”, you now know the check is fake, and that you should not deposit it. Simply inform the authorities.
There are plenty of legit/real mystery shopping companies out there. The scams are easy to avoid, the legit companies are easy to find.
Here’s some real mystery shopping companies.
I once fell pray to a mystery shopper scam. It cost me almost 4500 dollars and I had charges pressed against ME for uttering false checks and larceny. My bank held on to the check for 2 days before they cashed it. Thinking it was legit I proceeded to start work. Long story story I paid dearly for one of these scams and am now very Leary about any work offered on line. Yes some may be real but it is the fake ones that mess it up for others. Be very careful and make sure any checks that you get in the mail if seem too good to be true they more than likely are.
A company sent me an asignment in the mail and they did not send a check. They sent 2 postal money orders, that look legit. I need to know if this is the real Insight Shoppers LLC.
They are, howerver, other signs that this is a scam. I am supposed to wire money to someone via Western Union. Also they do not put the name of their company on every e-mail they send me, and their alot of typos in the e-mails they send.

I too recieved a postal money order in the mail dated 03/29/2011 from Geneva Nelson. The post office is 814160 and the address is 323 Lee cir tom bean. Tx 75489 The serial number is 18384757710 and the clerk number is 0001. It came in a regular sized envelope with my address hand written from Houston Texas and had no return address on it anywhere. Nothing else was in the envelope…. is this a scam?????

I was unemployed for a while and i was desperate need of money!
So I was stupid and I actually thought it was real. I received the check and deposited it into my bank account. But my gut feeling told me something was not right. Stupid me realized AFTER I deposit the check. But I thought if I left it alone everything would be ok. But no they closed my account and I’m now trying to open up a new bank account to deposit my checks from my new job but no bank is accepting me. HELP! Who do i go for this matter?? What do I do? i didn’t even use the money! Am i banned from all banks for life? does anybody know???

YES YES YES!!!!!!!! They are scams I did this but I didn’t go go my bank to cash them like they tell you to do, I went to a check cashing place and they had to verify it and they had already been cashed. They are used money orders that they send you and once I received them they kept calling me every hour on the hour but I emailed them and told them they were scams and I took them to the police station and to the attorney general and I have not heard anything else from them.
How did ya’ll get my email to see if i was interested at all in becoming a secret shopper?
